M-Pesa sends you an SMS starting with a code like SJK7XQ9PLM. Copy the whole message and paste it into the booking form.

That is how we match your payment to your name without anyone chasing anyone.

Small groups

Put everyone's names in the booking form and pay for all of you in one M-Pesa payment. Just make sure the total matches the number of people coming.

More than eight people

Message us before you pay so we can plan transport around your group. We also run private trips for companies, schools and churches. Tell us the size, the date and the level of challenge you want.

How do I book a hike?

Pick your trip, pay to M-Pesa Buy Goods 5365032, then fill in the booking form and paste your M-Pesa confirmation message. We confirm you and send the WhatsApp group link.

Why do you need the M-Pesa message?

It's how we match your payment to your name without chasing anyone. Copy the whole confirmation SMS and paste it into the form. That's all we need.

Can I transfer my slot to someone else?

Usually yes, if you tell us early enough for us to update the trail register and the manifest. Send us the replacement person's name and phone number before the trip.

I'm a complete beginner. Is that a problem?

It's the opposite of a problem. Every one of us started somewhere. Pick a trip rated Beginner, say in the form that it's your first hike, and a guide will look out for you.

Can I book for friends?

Yes. Put everyone's names in the booking form and pay for all of you in one go. Just make sure the total matches the number of people.

What if it rains?

We hike. Kenyan highland weather changes hourly and waiting for perfect conditions means never leaving the house. We only cancel for genuinely dangerous conditions, and then you get a full transfer to another trip.

How fit do I need to be?

For a Beginner trail, if you can walk for three hours you're fine. For Hard trips, you want regular cardio and a couple of easier hikes behind you first.

Is there an age limit?

Under-18s are welcome on Beginner and Moderate trips with a parent or guardian. The Hard summits are 18 and over.

What should I carry?

Every trip page has a downloadable itinerary with the full packing list. The short version: 2–3 litres of water, a rain jacket, proper boots, a warm layer, lunch and snacks.
